The Last Great Hamburger Stand

Fatburger recently opened up in Oakley, and as a big fan of burgers I had to check it out. This one is owned by former bengal Willie Anderson. He was not there for the grand opening since dumbass Mike Brown cut him, and he now plays for the Ravens. It replaced the old Chili Company, a great place to eat at after an evening of partying, but often making your stomach feel like this the next morning.
We walked since it was about a mile away and the parking lot is pretty small. It was pretty crowded but they do a good job of turning tables over quickly. The menu is pretty simple, kind of like Chipotle for burgers. I had the King Fatburger with cheese, steak fries and a coke, and Mandy had the Fatburger with cheese, steak fries, and a water. The burger was excellent, and the steak fries were pretty good as well. It's worth another trip, I'd like to try the Fatburger with an egg on it or bacon.

Vote Early Rock Late

This past Thursday I went to see The National, one of my favorite bands play a free concert at Fountain Square. They were performing at the Vote Early Rock Late Obama Rally. The concert was awesome, they played all the hits from Boxer and Alligator, going for about an hour. Natalie Portman made a quick appearance, speaking for about 10 minutes on the importance of voting and gave her plug for Obama. The Breeders also played, but I missed the performance. (came straight from work)

The volunteers there were really pushing to vote early, as you could go to tents on the square to cast your ballot. That was really the only annoying part of the night. Personally I enjoy the buzz around election day and don't vote early unless its absentee.

Beat Down (Again)

This picture pretty much sums up everything about Sunday's game, as the Bengals lost to the Jets 26-14, falling to 0-6. This team is bad with Carson Palmer in the lineup, and terrible with Fitzpatrick (also known as Kirkpatrick to the CBS guys and Fitzgerald to the 1530 Homer sports report). If announcers can't get your name right, that usually means you stink.

Schedule doesn't get any easier, with Pittsburgh coming to town. Something tells me Paul Brown Stadium is going to look a lot like this on Sunday.

The only thing worse than being a fan of a terrible team is being a season ticket holder of said terrible team.*

*Just remembered I'm a season ticket holder to this mess.....

An Evening With Doug Benson

This past Friday Mandy and I went to Go Bananas Comedy Club to see Doug Benson. I know Doug as one of my favorite comedian's on VH1's Best Week Ever, and he has also been on Last Comic Standing as well as cameos on other shows. What I wasn't aware of was how much of a stoner he is, having starred in Super High Me.

The night started out rough with dinner at Moy Moy's in Montgomery. It was terrible, the fried rice tasted like salt and the teriyaki chicken was filled with sprouts. If you are in Montgomery and looking for something to eat, go to the Steak 'N Shake across the street. Otherwise you may come out of Moy Moy's feeling like this.
Anyways, Doug was hilarious. I was afraid that all his material would be about a time when he was high, but he had some great stories and made fun of all kinds of people and corporations. Graham Elwood was the opening act, and he was just as funny. Does a great bit on the palm strike. Check them out if they come to a comedy club near you.

Cowboys 31 Bengals 23

Winning teams find ways to win, while losing teams find ways to lose (Just ask the Texans today). Chad ran his mouth and as usual did nothing. When did Antonio Chatman become the primary receiver? Why do you throw balls at Daniel Coates? Ben Utect on the 2 point conversion? The onside kick was very creative and un-bengal like....but then Chris Perry brings us back to earth with his fifth fumble.....easily leading the league in that category. Good thing we cut Rudi and Kenny Watson.

I don't think this team will go 0-16 as long as Palmer plays the season out, but I don't think they will win more than 2 games. I think Cedric Benson will be the starting RB by the Texans game, (week 8) and I hope they get a new coach, because I think the players need a new voice to ignore. TJ must be praying every day he doesn't get the franchise tag!

Next Week:
Back to The Meadowlands, this time to play the Jets....hopefully Farve has cooled off.
